Smart Sensing Summit

Sensing Intelligence!

As sensor enabled technology evolves to meet demands for traceability, transparency and efficiencies, the value of this technology has become greater than ever.

In response to this, 4id embarked on our first ‘Smart Sensing Summit’, on the 14th and 15th November. The Summit provided a collaborative opportunity for 4id and our esteemed partners, global experts in their field, to unlock perceived industry applications for consideration and viability assessment, with the aim to deliver premium passive sensor solutions to industry.

“This unique event marked a pivotal moment in the realm of contactless technologies, where innovation knows no boundaries”.

- Wayne Oldham, Innovation & Sustainable Technology Director.

Speakers included Anne Cottour & Mike Stone from Asygn (France), Alan Wu from S & S (Taiwan), Jo Major from SensThys (USA) and Praveen Kannan from SICK Sensors (Australia).

Asygn SAS is specialized in the design and production of advanced analogue and mixed-signal integrated circuits (ICs). Their expertise is in Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Sensor IC design, wherein their sensor data can be communicated using standard UHF RFID infrastructure.

SensThys provides design, consulting & engineering services for challenging remote sensing applications utilizing unique expertise in multi-function sensors, tags, interrogators, software, and sub-systems.

Smooth and Sharp (aka DoP) has carved out a distinctive niche in the RFID sector with its commitment to sustainable innovation. Recognized for producing certified compostable RFID inlays, the company seamlessly blends technological excellence with eco-consciousness.

SICK Sensor Intelligence is a global leader in sensor technology and automation solutions, catering to a diverse range of industries—from manufacturing and logistics to mining and agriculture. SICK's cutting-edge products and solutions have been instrumental in driving innovation and operational efficiency.

The Summit was designed to foster collaboration and pave the way for the seamless commercialisation of opportunities, both existing and new. We have been able to assemble a network of expertise, innovation, and ambition as we move forward to offer a comprehensive sensor solution. This solution is set to include sensor-enabled tags, cutting-edge readers that retrieve valuable data from these sensors, and advanced software to interpret and organize the collected data in a meaningful way.
